Minor Hotels Announces Upcoming Debut of Tivoli Brand in Oman

Minor Hotels is pleased to announce the expansion of its Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand in the Middle East region, with the upcoming addition of a property in Oman. The 180-key Tivoli Muscat Hotel & Residences will begin development in the Omani capital later this year, with the property slated to launch in 2026.

The new-build property will be located in LA VIE, Muscat Hills, a prominent established mixed-use community. The development will feature an 80-key hotel and 100 branded residences and will overlook the re-opened 18-hole golf course managed by Troon Golf.

Minor Hotels currently operates three Tivoli properties in Qatar, with a further new-build property under development in Bahrain to launch in 2024.

Raffles Hotel Le Royal’s Iconic Elephant Bar Launches ‘World Gin Tour’

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (2023): The iconic Elephant Bar at the 90-year-old Raffles Hotel Le Royal has launched a new “World Gin Tour” showcasing highlights from one of Southeast Asia’s most diverse and thoughtfully curated gin collections.

The yearlong “World Gin Tour” spotlights select labels from Elephant Bar’s collection of more than 150 distinctive gins from around the world. Whether classic concoctions or modern inventions, Elephant Bar’s expert bartenders can make them all.

Each month will introduce a new special cocktail menu featuring refreshing drinks made with a different country’s gin, in addition to a “gin masterclass” that includes cocktail flights for two hours highlighting the featured gin (priced at $28). History and sustainability

The Palazzo housing Six Senses Rome is a treasure trove of wonders, from the monumental marble staircase with its decorative skylight to the newly restored 600-year-old columns in the main entrance. The large baptismal bath dating back to the fourth century was uncovered during archaeological excavations at the beginning of the 1900s and is now visible beneath the glass floor tiles within BIVIUM Restaurant-Café-Bar, the spot where all paths cross.

What’s fascinating about the soul of the Palazzo is how classical elements blend in harmony with the contemporary, sustainable design by architect Patricia Urquiola. Aurelia the She-Wolf has been announced as the hotel mascot. Deeply rooted in Rome’s history, the She-Wolf is the symbol of the city. According to the local legend, she nursed Romulus and Remus, the newborn twin founders of Rome, and became an iconic symbol.

The White Plate by Chef Jason promises a culinary experience never seen before in Goa, which is otherwise known for its rich and vibrant culinary landscape.

“For me, fine dining is about elevating the senses,” he says. “It’s a delicate harmony of textures, flavours and scents which come together - gently balanced to deliver an almost transcendental experience.” A sneak peek of the highly-guarded and yet-to-be-revealed menu assures a feast for the senses, with exotic offerings from the world of molecular gastronomy. Savoury olive oil snow, amsol foam, caviars made from honeysuckle and cider, kokum gels and ghee dusts are just some of the alluring mentions that catch the eye. Ingeniously paired with some of the choicest ingredients, the mix of flavours and textures seem intriguing indeed.

 

The philosophy behind this revolutionary menu is based on what Chef Jason considers the coming together of his own heritage and his experiences in the famed kitchens of Culinary Masters Alain Ducasse and Gordon Ramsey. “From Gordon, I learnt the nuances of building impeccable flavours, while Alain taught me about finesse and elevating dishes to the next level. The offerings at The White Plate will combine these key elements, accentuated by the nostalgic flavours of our own backyards,” he says.

Nostalgia can be a powerful tool within a culinary artist’s hands, capable of transporting one to places unknown and familiar at the same time. A classic goal corned veal tongue paired with edamame pearls and a kokum gel would simultaneously take one back to their grandma’s kitchen and to foreign lands in just one bite. Pairing a kasundi caviar with a modern ratatouille traverses the distances between Kolkata and Paris in a single morsel. Deconstructed, reconstructed, spherified and cloaked in the mystery of scented smokes and beguiling aromas, Chef Jason’s daring combinations at The White Plate urges food enthusiasts to explore the thrill of the unknown, while offering the soul-warming comfort of flavours familiar to our palettes.
