Chef Rohit Mattummal brings over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry to Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel, specializing in Chinese, Thai, and Japanese cuisines. He is known for his ability to create exceptional dishes that balance traditional flavors with modern twists. Chef Rohit's journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology from Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Mandir, SPH College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Nashik, where he graduated with first-class honors. His academic background laid a solid foundation for a distinguished culinary career marked by dedication and excellence.

Chef Rohit's professional journey includes significant roles at renowned establishments. Most recently, he served as Chef de Cuisine at Kempinski, Marsa Malaz – The Pearl in Doha, Qatar, where he oversaw various kitchen departments, managed outdoor catering for VIP events, and maintained the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Prior to this, he was Chef de Cuisine at Kempinski, Barbaros Bay in Bodrum, Turkey, where he led a team in preparing and presenting Asian-inspired dishes, developed seasonal menus, and implemented cost-effective strategies. Chef Rohit's tenure at The Oberoi in Bengaluru, India, saw him play a pivotal role in launching two new restaurants, developing menus, and receiving recognition for exceptional performance and training contributions. At Express Inn in Nashik, Maharashtra, India, he managed banquet operations for Asian cuisine and collaborated with the Executive Chef in menu planning. His earlier experience at The Oberoi- Trident in Mumbai, India, involved overseeing various sections, handling bulk orders, and maintaining high standards and hygiene in a Pan-Asian specialty restaurant.

Known for his proficiency in SE Asian, Indian, and International cuisine, Chef Rohit excels in sourcing premium ingredients, orchestrating successful pre-opening strategies, conducting comprehensive staff training, and skillfully managing budgets. As a multilingual professional fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Malayalam, with basic proficiency in French, Chef Rohit effortlessly guides service teams and delivers exceptional customer service.

over 17 years of experience in the culinary arts, Chef Rohan will oversee all culinary

operations at the hotel's two distinctive dining destinations: 7 Isles, an all-day dining

restaurant celebrating the city's heritage with seven live kitchens, and Nazaara, a rooftop

restaurant specializing in Awadhi cuisine with stunning views. He will also manage the

Greatroom, a brand signature offering a sophisticated space for guests to unwind and

socialize.

Chef Rohan is renowned for his expertise in managing speciality restaurants and staying at

the forefront of culinary trends. His creative flair, strong work ethic, and ability to lead and

inspire teams make him an exceptional addition to the Navi Mumbai Marriott Hotel. He is

well-versed in Western and Oriental cuisines and has a proven track record in team

management and cost control.

Throughout his career, Chef Rohan has earned numerous accolades for his culinary

excellence. He was awarded "Culinary Operations of the Year 2022" APEC Marriott and

nominated for the APEC Culinary Advisory Board 2023-2024. He was also recognized as a

top contender in the "Chef of the Year (Economy to Budget)" category at The 13th Hotelier

India Awards in 2022.

In his most recent role as General Manager at Sheraton Grand Pune, Saurabh successfully reopened the hotel post-pandemic, establishing it as the preferred destination for business travelers. Under his leadership, the hotel achieved remarkable growth in revenue and market reputation. He also pioneered a robust 'Revenue & Reputation' strategy, resulting in significant financial success and market dominance in 2022.

Prior to this, Saurabh held prominent positions such as Director of Room Operations, Sales and Marketing at The St. Regis Mumbai, and Director of Business Development at The Leela Mumbai. His leadership at these prestigious establishments contributed to substantial improvements in operational efficiency, revenue management, and market expansion.
