Lemon Tree Hotels signs a new hotel in Jabalpur

New Delhi,2023: Lemon Tree Hotels announced its latest signing, Lemon Tree Hotel, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The property is expected to be operational by June 2024 and shall be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary and the management arm of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited. 

 

This property will feature 75 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, a club, a bar, a banquet, a gym and other public areas. Guests can enjoy an invigorating round of squash, plays billiards, tee off on the golf simulator or relax at the spa. The Jabalpur Airport is about 16 kms from the property while the Railway Station is nearly 2 kms away. The property is connected by both public and private transport to all the major cities in India.

Jabalpur, on the banks of river Narmada,is an important administrative, industrial and business centre of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated in the 'Mahakaushal' region and gets its name from 'Jabali Rishi' who, it is said, meditated on the banks of the river. Jabalpur is a city of growing commercial importance, though it is more renowned for its scenic charms, in particular the magnificent Marble Rocksat Bhedaghat which are a hundred feet tall and change colour according to the light shone on them. The Anam Mui Ne Debuts on Vietnam’s South Coast in Tribute to Bygone Era

MUI NE, Vietnam January 2023 – Crafted by age-old artisans from across Vietnam, The Anam Mui Ne celebrates its grand opening on January 11 with a design redolent of the Indochine period.

Perched on 1.2 hectares of spectacular oceanfront, the independently owned and operated resort is blazing new ground in Mui Ne, a popular beach town within an easy commute from Ho Chi Minh City.

With 127 elegant rooms and suites, two restaurants and a bar, a five-treatment-room spa, two spacious swimming pools - one freshwater and the other saltwater - a ballroom, conference rooms, water sports center, fitness center, yoga room, kid’s club, gift shop and more, The Anam Mui Ne is poised to redefine the benchmarks of an upscale experience at Mui Ne.

Borrowing deeply from the templates of architecture inspired by the grand old French villas in Hanoi, and the garden homes of Central Vietnam, the new resort pays homage to both colonial-era and classic Vietnamese aesthetics. To wit, the customized encaustic mosaic tiles, Cham decorative vases and statues on plinths, teak furniture crafted from sustainable forests, stone from Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, and authentic thatched roofs from Binh Thuan.

Vietnamese artists were commissioned to create 250 original oil paintings for each room and suite, as well as the lobby, restaurants and hallways. The artists include painters Bui Van Quang, who is renowned for his paintings portraying daily Vietnamese life, and Vu Trong Anh, who’s won acclaim for his modern, abstract interpretations of Vietnamese scenery.

The Anam Mui Ne is preceded by the 2017 launch of The Anam Cam Ranh, that’s been lauded by some of the industry’s highest accolades including placement among Asia’s top resorts in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards in 2021 and 2020.

Situated on Mui Ne’s beach strip Nguyen Dinh Chieu, the resort overlooks one of southern Vietnam’s most inspiring white sand beaches and affords sweeping East Sea vistas. Mui Ne’s attractions include its beach, sand dunes, fishing village, Cham towers and “Fairy Stream” - a shallow stream that flows through vivid orange and white limestone formations. An expressway due to open shortly will cut the drive from Ho Chi Minh City to two hours. An international airport is set to open in Mui Ne in 2025.

For Vietnam-born founder and owner Pham Van Hien, the resort makes for a significant expansion of the brand that references another name “An Nam”, which was the name of Central Vietnam during the French Indochina era. He has played a hands-on role in the design of the resort, applying valuable lessons he learnt from bringing The Anam Cam Ranh to fruition.

“My ambition for The Anam has always been to create, through and through, an intimate, classic and distinctly Vietnamese hotel brand that is a welcome counterpoint to the industrialised hotel chains that are increasingly targeting Vietnam with properties that, quite frankly, you could find anywhere,” Mr Hien said.

The resort’s 127 rooms and suites across six accommodation categories form a loose rectangular U-shaped configuration that opens up views of the ocean, lush gardens, the resort’s swimming pools and Mui Ne town. The Private Pool Suites and Presidential Suite are the resort’s leading accommodation categories. The 142sqm Private Pool Suites have their own 22sqm private pools complemented with terraces decked with sun loungers. The 122sqm Presidential Suite features an indoor dining area, lounge and kitchenette, as well as a separate room for security personnel. 

Comprising an all-day dining restaurant and grill called The Indochine, beachside restaurant and bar Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar, elegant Saigon Bar in the lobby and 24-7 in-room dining, the resort’s dining landscape’s offerings range from gourmet delicacies to traditional home style cooking and street food-inspired classics. 

The Anam Spa has five treatment rooms, including three VIP rooms designed for couples - each equipped with two massage beds and a deep-soaking bathtub - as well as two single rooms, two steam rooms, saunas, indoor Jacuzzis and a beauty salon. 

The resort leverages its natural surrounds as opportunities for kitesurfing, jet skiing, sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, bodyboarding, Kymera body boarding and surfing at Mui Ne beach.

The resort will open with a ban on single-use plastics and has implemented an array of measures to reduce its carbon footprint ranging from solar power and locally sourced ingredients. Laundry water is recycled to water the gardens. Straws, bags and bathroom amenities are biodegradable. The resort’s eco-friendly key cards are also made from wood that’s been sourced from sustainably managed forests.

Pride Hotels Group has announced the signing of "Pride Hotel Kanpur". Centrally located the property will be easily accessible to all major leisure and commercial establishments in the city. Red Sea Project reveals which hotels will open first at the Saudi Arabia gigaproject

St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and Six Senses will open soon at the Red Sea Project

The world’s first hotels within a Saudi Arabia gigaproject will open in just a few months. Both IHG and Marriott International will open properties along the Red Sea Project – Six Senses Southern Dunes from IHG – and Nujuma, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve, and St. Regis The Red Sea from Marriott.

The three hotels’ upcoming openings were confirmed by developer Red Sea Global. By the end of this year, it is planned 16 hotels will open on the project.

At the time of writing, 13 of the 16 hotels have been announced.

IHG debuts voco brand in India with a signing in Jim Corbett

The company continues to expand its portfolio in the country by introducing global brands to new markets

January 2023, New Delhi: IHG® Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has announced the signing of a management agreement with Satyadeo Hospitality Private Limited to convert Corbett Aamod Spa & Resort into India’s first Voco hotel.

The new voco Jim Corbett is scheduled to be rebranded by July 2024, adding 100 rooms to IHG’s premium portfolio in the country. The signing also marks the introduction of the 7th brand from IHG’s global portfolio to the Indian market.

The distinctive, lifestyle brand, voco offers a premium experience to guests and combines the informality and charm of an individual hotel with the quality and reassurance of a global and respected brand. Since launching globally in 2018, voco has enjoyed rapid growth with multiple signings across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia (EMEAA), and the signing of voco Jim Corbett marks the brand’s debut in the South West Asia region. 

A key part of Voco’s offer for owners is the pace at which hotels are able to convert into IHG systems, helping them quickly benefit on a global scale and maximize their returns.

Grounded - Bandra’s enchanting new café is now open

Mumbai has got its new space where one can find the calm within the chaos! While ushering in some meaningful conversations over delicious food, coffee and desserts, one can enjoy the serenity in Bandra’s newest Insta-worthy cafe, Grounded, which is now open in the bustling neighbourhood of Bandstand.

As the name suggests, Grounded is simple in nature but holds a lot of value to its customers who can come, converse and share their experiences over their favourite brews, food and desserts. This complemented by the sea breeze and sounds of the waves creates a tranquil ambience at the cafe. The brainchild behind this new establishment is India’s youngest entrepreneur in F&B - Yuvika Wadhawan. The food menu has been designed keeping in mind the cafe’s audience and offers dishes that can be enjoyed throughout the day. On the menu, one will find dishes like Californian Benedict, benedict but with a twist, fresh poached eggs on a croissant with in-house garnish; New York-style B**f Burger, organic veggies, chipotle chilli and marinated patty served in a house-made burger bun; and Spiced Chicken Stuffed Buns, Minced chicken in their flavourful sauce, stuffed in homemade buns. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy Burnt Orange Ice Cream Sandwich, hazelnut sponge, in-house burnt orange ice cream with honeycomb; Nutella Tiramisu, a coffee cup made out of milk and dark chocolate filled with tiramisu and nutella; and the Mexican classic - OG Tres Leches Cake, a vanilla sponge soaked in 3 milks and topped with cream. The food menu is complemented with an extensive coffee menu, made with beans sourced from select estates and different roasts, to offer an immersive coffee experience. The brews offer a unique range of flavours and an unparalleled experience that this neighbour is yet to witness.

Designed with a blend of Greek and Mediterranean influences, the space follows a unique approach. It is accented with a burst of blue color and muted tones. A key feature of the cafe is its signage, which conveys a modern and innovative concept in an eye-catching manner. Adding to the wonderful aesthetic of the cafe is the terrazzo countertop with its attractive colour and pattern. The glass ceiling floods the space with soft natural sunlight. The Anam Mui Ne To Celebrate Grand Opening in January

MUI NE, Vietnam (November 2022) – The Anam Mui Ne, a resort with 127 elegant rooms and suites, a sublime design inspired by Vietnam’s Indochine era, and a prime beachfront location will celebrate its grand opening in January next year.

Situated in southern Vietnam’s popular beach town Mui Ne, the independently owned and operated five-star resort is the second Anam property to open. The Anam Mui Ne follows the successful 2017 debut of The Anam Cam Ranh which has been recognized by some of the industry’s highest accolades including placement among Asia’s top resorts in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards in 2021 and 2020. 

Overlooking Mui Ne’s white sand beach, the resort affords spectacular East Sea vistas. The resort’s dining landscape comprises an all-day dining restaurant and grill called The Indochine, beachside restaurant and bars Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar, Saigon Bar in the lobby, and 24-7 in-room dining. The resort will cut the ribbon on a collection of luxurious facilities on January 11 including a five-treatment-room spa, two spacious swimming pools - one fresh water and the other saltwater - a ballroom, conference rooms, water sports center, fitness center, yoga room, kid’s club, and gift shop.

Like its predecessor, The Anam Mui Ne’s design is an echo of Vietnam’s bygone Indochine period, with architecture guided by Hanoi’s grand old French villas. Evoking a romantic atmosphere, the likes of glowing lanterns, customized encaustic mosaic tiles, big-bellied clay water vases, statues on plinths, imperial-style roofs, cornice detailing, and intricate woodwork have been crafted by artisans from across Vietnam whose trades have been handed down the generations. Giving way to an infinity pool and the ocean beyond, the lobby makes for a striking first impression, replete with a grand piano and a sloping roof fashioned with glass panels that water gently flows over, casting faint shadows underneath.

The resort’s 127 classic rooms and suites range in size from an ample 40sqm to a spacious 142sqm across six accommodation categories. Seven 142sqm suites come with private pools. A 122sqm presidential suite offers a quarters for bodyguards. Vietnamese artists were commissioned to create unique paintings for each room and suite, opening doors on the country's fascinating culture. Clawfoot bathtubs and custom-built furniture such as leather-bound tables add to the resort’s old-world feel.

“We learned so many valuable lessons about how to design, orient and build a hotel with The Anam Cam Ranh; so much so that every design element that is extraordinary about our first property has been accentuated in The Anam Mui Ne, such as the layouts and flow of the accommodations,” said the resorts’ founder and owner Pham Van Hien. “The alluring woodwork in our Lang Viet Restaurant, from forests cultivated for sustainable harvests in Vietnam, is all handcrafted and took the craftspeople over six months to complete and is just one example of the many hand-crafted design elements evident in our new resort.”

“We expect The Anam Mui Ne to redefine Mui Ne’s hotel scene,” added group general manager Laurent Myter. “There is nothing quite like it; an intimate, classic, and genuine Vietnamese hotel with personalized Vietnamese service that is anything but the industrialized product that so many hotel chains have established in Vietnam.”

The resort will open with a ban on single-use plastics and has implemented an array of measures to reduce its carbon footprint with solar power and locally sourced ingredients. Its water filtration plant supplies drinking water in recycled glass bottles, and laundry water is recycled to water the gardens. Straws, bags, and bathroom amenities are biodegradable. The resort’s eco-friendly key cards are also made from wood that’s been sourced from sustainably managed forests.

Famed for its beach, sand dunes, fishing village, Cham towers, and “Fairy Stream” - a shallow stream that flows through vivid orange and white limestone formations - Mui Ne means “sheltered peninsula” in Vietnamese and has become a Southeast Asian windsurfing mecca due to its excellent weather and wind conditions. An expressway due to open shortly will cut the drive from Ho Chi Minh City to 2.5 hours. An international airport is due to open in Mui Ne in 2025.

The Vivanta Meghalaya, Shillong inaugurated in Shillong

On a historic occasion, Meghalaya’s first ever five-star hotel, the Vivanta Meghalaya, Shillong was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri. Conrad K. Sangma.

The event was attended by cabinet Ministers, the Hon’ble member of Rajya Sabha from Meghalaya, the Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police, the Chairperson, MTDC, senior government officials, delegates from the media and members of the civil society.

 

The Chief Minister called this a truly momentous occasion in the history of Meghalaya. He highlighted that the work for the hotel had been going on since 1986 and could be completed only after a strong push was given by the current government. He congratulated and thanked all the stakeholders for completing the project despite the COVID-induced disruptions. With a built-up area of about 8,800 sq. m., the hotel has 101 rooms and other facilities including a speciality restaurant, coffee shops, bar, retail shops, and a banquet hall. It is owned by the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and has been leased out for a period of 33 years on a PPP mode to be operated by the IHCL. The Chief Minister also said that the Vivanta Meghalaya, Shillongalong with the upcoming hotel Courtyard by Marriott will give a huge boost to high-value tourism in the State. This model will be further replicated going forward to transform Meghalaya into the most preferred destination for ecotourism. Today we have handed over the hotel to IHCL and the hotel will soon be open for guests.

 

The Chief Minister reiterated his vision of transforming Meghalaya into the top 10 states within the next 10 years and said that tourism is at the core of realizing this vision. He said that the Government is developing tourism on a hub and spoke model wherein Sohra, Jowai, Shillong, Umiam and Tura will act as hubs and nearby rural tourist destinations will be developed as spokes. In line with this strategy, the Government has taken a number of initiatives to augment the accommodation infrastructure in the State. These include the construction of large resorts and tourism infrastructure in Sakaladuma in West Garo Hills, Shnongpdeng in West Jaintia Hills, Sohra in East Khasi Hills, Mawlyndep and Nongmahir in Ribhoi, Nongkhnum in West Khasi Hills, Thadlaskien in West Jaintia Hills and Pelgawari in South West Garo Hills. Tourism infrastructure and amenities at a cost of Rs. 5 -10 crores each, will also be set up in several villages.

 

To further augment the accommodation infrastructure, the ‘Homestay Scheme’ has been launched, wherein 2,500 accommodation units will be built over the next five years in convergence with the PMEGP. A subsidy of 35% is being given on loans of up to Rs. 10 lakh by the State government which is over and above the 35% subsidy being given by the Government of India under PMEGP. The residents stand to earn a monthly revenue of up to Rs. 50,000 by paying an EMI of just Rs. 5,000. The Government has received over 480 applications to date and has sanctioned Rs. 7.1 crores to build about 75 homestays.

 

In addition to accommodation infrastructure, the connectivity infrastructure is also being upgraded to decongest Shillong and provide connectivity to new destinations. A fleet of electric buses and luxury tourist vehicles will be introduced to add capacity to the transport sector. Further, the works for the iconic Shillong Peak Ropeway, being taken up at a cost of Rs. 140 crores, are also expected to commence by the end of this year. The Chief Minister also spoke about the ‘Meghalaya Grassroots Music Project (MGMP)’ as part of which regular musical performances are being organized in Shillong, Sohra, Tura and Jowai. Apart from providing livelihood opportunities to the artists and entrepreneurs, MGMP is also playing an important role in promoting the musical culture and heritage of the State and at the same time is also providing a unique experience for the tourists.

 

The State faces a shortage of high-quality rooms and the presence of five-star hotels in Shillong would allow the government to attract high-value tourists, host national and international music and sports events, and other seminars and conferences. The Chief Minister said that the Vivanta Meghalaya, Shillong would herald an era of luxury tourism in the State and will go a long way in fulfilling the aspirations of the residents of the State. 

Signum Hotels & Resorts enters management agreement with London-based 360Stays

To manage 325 serviced apartments across the United Kingdom

New Delhi, October 2022: Signum Hotels, a fast-growing hotel management company in India, today announced entering a management agreement with London-based 360Stays. Under this agreement, Signum Hotels will manage all 325 serviced residences operated by 360Stays across 39 locations in the UK.

Under the management agreement, Signum will operate all 360Stays properties, across the UK, re-branded as ‘360Stays by Signum’. The management agreement comes into effect on 1 October 2022.

Accor expands luxury footprint in India with signing of Fairmont Udaipur Palace

Mumbai's popular Gateway Taproom Opens Its Second Outlet in Kalaghoda, this October

Mumbai’s award-winning microbrewery, bar & restaurant Gateway Taproom has crossed over the sealink and it is set to open its second taproom in the much-loved art district of Mumbai - Kala Ghoda, this October.

Known for its hip, artsy vibe and streets dotted with dainty cafes, Kala Ghoda makes for the perfect location for a casual bar. Gateway Taproom comes as a respite to busy shoppers and working professionals in the area who are looking to wind down after a tiring day over a quick round of drinks and food. 


The new outlet in Kala Ghoda is spread over 1100 sq ft. and offers a seating capacity of 48 people. The interiors have been designed keeping the district artist aesthetic, with white brick walls and contrasting shades of orange to complement. The menu offers a wide variety of spirits, Cocktails, G&Ts, Sangrias & Wines in addition to the brand’s signature Craft Beers. The food menu consists of dishes inspired by various regions of Europe.  Dishes such as Basil Hummus with melba toast; Homemade Khari with chilly and cheese; Beer Batter Prawns; Birria-style Chicken or Lamb Taco; Pepperoni & Mozzarella Flatbread; Smoked Chicken Waffle Sandwich; Tenderloin Burger; Watermelon & Feta Salad; and Baked Lemon Cheesecake are some of the menu offerings one can try at the taproom. Those experiencing the brand for the first time must try the fresh brews it offers. White zen - Mumbai’s Original Wheat beer, is light & refreshing with hints of clove and banana; Doppelganger is a dark and malty beer with a luscious mouthfeel; Zini Lager is a homage to a native rice variety, Zini from Palghar, which is on the verge of extinction. This light and crisp lager are great for easy drinking while being truly local at heart.
