Eco-tourism spots in Coimbatore reopens today

The Forest Department has decided to reopen eco-tourism spots in Yercaud and Attur ranges here for the public from Wednesday following weekly maintenance works on Tuesday.

According to Forest officials, the Karadiyur view point, the eco park in Yercaud and Annavari muttal waterfalls in Attur will be made accessible to the public. Visitors to these places will have to strictly adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols.

District Forest Officer R. Murugan said, “visitors will have to follow the COVID-19 safety measures like wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and ensuring hand sanitation. The public will be prevented from crowding at any place at these spots.”

V.P. Subramaniyam, Forest Range Officer, Yercaud, said visitors would be allowed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and they were advised to follow safety protocols strictly. He said sanitisers would be placed at the entrance and steps were being taken to prevent gathering of the public at a point.

The Yercaud eco park, also known as deer park, recently received tourist attractions such as decorative lights and lighting in the shape of butterflies, rose-shaped LED lights resembling flower bed among others. The department recently reopened Kurumbapatti zoological park to the public

Marriott International Signs Agreement With Magellan Development Group To Debut The St. Regis Brand At Chicago's Iconic Vista Tower

Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) today announced it has signed an agreement with Magellan Development Group to introduce its iconic St. Regis Hotels & Resorts brand to Chicago. The project is anticipated to include 191 hotel rooms – including 33 spacious suites – and 393 branded residences within the 101-story building. Previously under construction as the luxury Wanda Vista Hotel and Vista Tower, the property is being rebranded as the St. Regis Chicago and the Residences at the St. Regis Chicago. Expected to welcome its first residents in December 2020 and hotel guests by July 2021, the project will serve as a key property in the neighborhood given its unique architecture and ultra-luxury experience.

“The St. Regis Chicago will mark the start of an exciting new era by bringing an unsurpassed luxury lifestyle to one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, Lakeshore East,” said Timothy Grisius, Global Real Estate Officer, Marriott International. “We are pleased Magellan Development Group has chosen to introduce the St. Regis brand to this vibrant community in the heart of Chicago.”

Located downtown, The St. Regis Chicago will span a total of three towers within the sought-after Lakeshore East community. The project offers expansive views and exposures overlooking over the Chicago River to the north, Lake Michigan to the east, Millennial and Grant Parks to the south and the Loop skyline to the west.

Indian Hotels Company, (IHCL) has announced the signing of three Taj hotels – two in Kolkata, West Bengal and one in Patna, Bihar. These new hotels are in partnership with Ambuja Neotia Group, who have already partnered with IHCL for two other hotels in the East – Taj Chia Kutir, Darjeeling, West Bengal and Taj Guras Kutir in Gangtok, Sikkim.

The hotel, with 147 keys, has been in operation for over 10 years and is slated to undergo extensive refurbishments before it re-opens as a Taj hotel in 2021.

The Taj hotel at Eco Park, located in New Town, is a 57-room hotel overlooking Eco Park’s 112-acre water body. The resort hotel with state-of-the-art banqueting and convention facilities spread across 50,000 sq. ft. is slated to open in 2021.

Hilton to debut LXR Hotels & Resorts brand in Seychelles

Global hotel operator Hilton has announced plans to bring its luxury LXR Hotels & Hotels brand to the archipelago nation of Seychelles in the Indian Ocean.

The new Mango House Seychelles LXR Hotels & Resorts will open on Mahé, Seychelles’ largest island, characterised by its white sand beaches. The five-star resort is on track to open at the start of next year, extending across the edge of the Anse aux Poules Bleues bay.

“We are delighted to have signed an agreement to bring LXR Hotels & Resorts to the Seychelles,” said Carlos Khneisser, vice president, development, Middle East and Africa, Hilton.

“Mango House Seychelles will allow guests to delight in a myriad of unique and exciting culinary concepts, including a variety of locally inspired menus. Guests can look forward to enjoying a boutique luxury resort experience at this outstanding LXR property.”

The property was originally built as a family home by the lauded fashion photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri. Hilton has created the resort with 41 keys, including nine suites, with the interior design retaining the heritage and culture of the surrounding area.

Other facilities include spa treatment rooms overlooking the Indian Ocean, an eye-shaped pool, an infinity pool and a wooden deck pool, along with a strong set of F&B venues.

Radisson Hotel Group has opened its ninth Park Inn by Radisson in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Park Inn by Radisson Riyadh is the latest addition to the region’s growing portfolio of lifestyle hotels.

Anchored by the brand’s ‘feel good’ philosophy, the property has a more relaxed design style than other hotels in the Radisson group. Located in the Al Malaz business district, the hotel features 192 modern rooms and suites, with social spaces connecting the facilities of the property.

Park Inn by Radisson Riyadh offers business guests access to four meeting rooms with high-speed Wi-Fi and audio-visual equipment.

Dining guests can choose from RBG or Bocca Bouna, serving local and international dishes respectively.

The group’s CEO, Federico J. González said earlier this year that KSA is one of the key markets where Radisson can spur its recovery.

The Fern Hotels & Resorts is once again on an expansion spree and will be opening 8 new Fern hotels over the next four months, the CEO of the company, Suhail Kannampilly said.

Of these, 3 new hotels are opening in the state of Gujarat, at Kevadia (Statue of Unity), Junagadh and Jamnagar. A sea-fronted tented resort is opening in the union territory of Daman. And another resort opens in the mountainous beauty of Gangtok in Sikkim. Other new openings are in Thane (Mumbai), Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) and Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh).

The expansion in Gujarat will propel the company as the largest organized hospitality player in the state, with presence in 18 cities.The total number of hotels in the state will increase to 21 hotels across Saurashtra, Kutch, south and north Gujarat, further consolidating the company’s position.

The other state which will witness a very healthy growth is Maharashtra, where the company will have a presence of 18 hotels in 10 cities.

The opening of these new hotels during these tough times reflects our confidence in the hospitality industry, Suhail said, adding, “it is also testimonial to the fact that as a group we are on a very strong footing”. Praising the team work behind the success, he said, “The team has been working very hard and are busy putting our foot print across all the geographies of the country”.

With these 8 new additions, Concept Hospitality Pvt Ltd will be managing 82 hotels & resorts with 4800+ rooms across 67 locations in India and internationally, under The Fern, The Fern Residency, The Zinc Hotels and Beacon Hotels brands.
